The John W. Hutchins Machine Translation Archive
Electronic repository and bibliography of articles, books and papers on topics
in machine translation, computer translation systems,
and computer-based translation tools
Latest update: 10 March 2017 (archived)
This archive was compiled
by the late John Hutchins (1939–2021: obituary, Wikipedia page) for the European Association for Machine Translation on behalf of the International
Association for Machine Translation
The
archive aims to cover English-language publications comprehensively from 1980
to 2014; papers and books of earlier years (before 1980) are being added in
order to provide substantial coverage from the beginnings of MT until 1980.
(See list of recent
additions, and list of conferences
included.)
Previous versions of the Archive (up to 2014) included
papers selectively from conferences not exclusively devoted to MT (see list); since 2014 these are no longer
included as the majority are covered by
the ACL Anthology.
For general information about the archive, coverage, arrangement, copyright, citation, etc., see the introduction. The full texts of the great majority of publications are located on this website; however, the archive also lists a few publications not available for copyright reasons.
Publications are listed in the following indexes:
Organizations and affiliations
Methodologies, techniques, applications, uses
Other indexes:
Conferences and workshops – contents lists
Links to other databases and websites
Note: Since June 2014 additions to the Archive had been delayed for health reasons.
